Batten down the hatches, sailors. We have another season of sailboat races on Lac Courte Oreilles this summer.

Barring heat stroke from global warming, members of COSC, Courte Oreilles Sailing Club will hit the waves with boats of all classes on the following Saturdays.

●  July 3
●  July 17
●  July 31
●  Aug. 14
●  Aug. 28
●  Sept. 4

Starting time tentatively will be 2 p.m. in each case, though those interested should check the website at www.cosc-wi.org.

The sailing club welcomes all area sailors to participate, with annual memberships of only $20 and the first race date acting as a bye. More information is available from either Tom Austin at 865-4593 or Tom Burgess at 634-2291.

Free sailing classes for youngsters are also being offered by master sailor Bruce Lillyblad at 865-4164. Bruce will accept students from age 10 up to 16, and if there is sufficient interest, he will arrange races for the young people.
